Decrypto: Cipher Cryptograms 4+

I first played this game in 2018 and almost got to the end. Now I’m back in 2024, looking to see how far I could get again. What would make this game relly fun is a game mode where you can be presented with previous puzzles. I love deciphering the words, but wish each puzzle wasn’t one-and-done.

In my line of work, ciphers and decryption are a main place in my job, and I have to admit, there are some levels in this game are downright not well balanced. I am going to cite level 20, since after completing that level, is when I decided to make this review. It uses a grille cipher; nothing too extraordinary. What makes it extraordinary though is how the orientation, starting position, and order you follow is completely and underly random with not a single clue. It’s possible, but it’s not fun. And that’s just one level. I wouldn’t recommend playing this unless you really know what you are doing.

This was a great little decoding game. I found it pretty hard and I had to use hints a lot because I don’t know much about cyphers, but I researched them and learned some stuff I didn’t know. A nice challenge! Not that long - maybe about 17 levels?
